Most
farm programs originated in the Great Depression of the 1930s, when
farm subsidies helped many poor farmers. But over the years, farm subsidies became a
fraud-ridden program that mainly benefits corporations and wealthy individuals. They make little sense in today’s more prosperous economy and
should be eliminated completely and immediately.
