We all know that Facebook is evil, collecting personal information for profit, but Facebook is not alone.
Last week, Verizon proposed a new technology, which includes a sensor/camera housed in a set-top box. It would determine the activities of individual viewers -- eating, playing, cuddling, laughing, singing, fighting or gesturing -- and then trigger personal advertisements based on the activities.
And if that was not enough, there is the AUVSI, a group representing the unmanned aerial vehicle industry. Its members include Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Raytheon, BAE Systems and others, all of whom would like to use drones flying freely overhead in every city to collect data and to register the behavior of citizens.
