As it turns out, the Mayans did not predict the end of the world, nor did they have the capacity to do so. They didn't even predict their own cultural demise; however, this is no knock on the Mayans. It is merely an observation of fact regarding humans in general. For despite our myriad strengths, we lack foresight. In brief, no one, no stock broker...no politician...no priest...no shaman of any kind, can predict the future with any accuracy. And those who make such claims, usually are attempting to manipulate others, exploiting their fear and ignorance, for the sake of profit.
